errr...WTF is goin on??

If you're epubbed, and your books are being sold at Barnes and Noble, you might wanna head on over and make sure your books are still there.

Several authors are reporting on Twitter that their titles have disappeared. Since my flist is primarily m/m authors, I don't know if this extends to het as well, or if B&N is pulling a censorship fail of Amazon proportions.

Here's to hoping it's a software glitch. Speculation is running rampant, from rumors that B&N is deleting books by authors who don't have a B&N buy link on their website, to they're getting rid of all ebooks not in epub format, because that's the preferred format for their new Nook reader.

Lemme know in comments if your stuff went bye bye.

I think it's likeliest that they're taking ebooks down temporarily to put them in a format that's compatible with their new Nook Reader. That would seem to be the most sensible thing for them to do, anyway.

I thought about that, but all of the files deleted were .pdf files, and the Nook is compatible with .pdf, so there would be no reason to ask publisher to convert to another format. It's not like Nook has a proprietary format, like Kindle.

Yesterday I had four TQ titles on B&N. They were the four that have been on FW. One of those four needed to come down anyway, as the contract had expired, but the other three have no explanation. At any rate, all four are missing from the B&N list now.

Interestingly, though, today I have one title up at B&N that *wasn't* there yesterday. My first Smashwords release is now up on B&N (speaking of which, do you want a copy?). Odd that the timing for that one going up coincides with the other four being taken down. I don't know if that's a clue or a coincidence.

I never say no to your books, since I've enjoyed them all muchly so far :)

I sent an email to B&N, but not holding out much hope of actually getting a response. Rat bastards.

Well, the few books of mine that were available at B&N aren't there anymore... though to be fair, I can't say when they went away. It's not a site I check all that often.

FW, on the other hand, still shows all my books that were there, which at one point were the same as at B&N.

I'm not sure I have a theory on the why. Just figured I'd chme in, is all.

Bad Tis!! Were there sales from B&N on your last quarterly statement, or do pubs not break it down by venue?

Some of the Shadowfire Press m/m titles have gone live on B&N via Smashwords, most of them are m/m.

Are all the Smashwords books in epub, do you know? While waitin gon a response from B&N, we're trying to figure out if there are differences in what format books are being sold in, and if the deleted books were all in pdf format vs epub.
